Snowdrop, snowdrop, snowdrop!

We had Snowdrop Study Day yesterday. All the garden staff who were on duty were invited to the talks given by our head gardener and another speaker. It was a little advanced for me and the rest of the audience seemed to know much better than I did. Nevertheless, it was great to be there and listen to the talks. There are so many species, one comes from very different climate to another, and there are millions of cultivars. Some are very distinct, some are subtle and more important for breeding purposes.

We had an amazingly sunny and nice day yesterday for the event so we obviously have to pay for it sometime… like today, typical Devon day with rain and drizzle.

Hydrangea was catching the light and looked almost golden!

Beautiful hellebore which I haven’t discovered the cultivar name for.
