20120829

A year has passed. I learnt a lot at work and enjoyed beautiful Devon and Cornwall quite a bit. I will miss the Garden (will remain as one of my very favourite garden!), people and Dartmoor.

I was packing frantically today because I am moving tomorrow. We had really heavy showers in the morning but it cleared in the afternoon and we even had some sun. I had a walk around for my last evening here. Now I see plants that were looking good when I arrived a year ago coming into life and feel that I have (just) seen the whole cycle.
It was an eventful year for the Garden House, too. Good and Bad. We had two major collapses of walls in the Garden. We saw the arboretum materialised in front of our eyes (with lots of people’s hard work).

I would like to thank the Garden, all the people who made my life here such an enjoyable one... and good ales of Devon and Cornwall ;)

My second year on PGG will be at Windsor Great Park. I am very excited!

9月から1年間はウィンザー・グレート・パークです。

20120821

It is almost the end of my placement here at the Garden House. It was a shame that the summer has been not great (weather-wise). I have learnt a lot in this great garden and it is one of my favourite garden in Britain (not that I have a lot of favourite gardens in other countries...). I wish to come back many times to see the Arboretum develop and all the rest of it!

I am on a chainsaw training course (it was a bit of squeeze but I think it was worth the effort!) this week and after that I have only one day to work in the garden. I will miss the garden, people and the Dartmoor.
Here are some pictures from a sunny evening...
今週は無理やり詰め込んだチェーンソーの講習で、そのあとガーデンハウスで働くのは1日を残すのみ。寂しいものです。
下は晴れた夕方にとった写真たち。

Guess which pea-like plant this is...!

Hip hip!

Bottom Walled Garden in sun

common name... 'butterfly bush' now you know why.
